"Pre-Clin Study 3"

Dimensions: 14" x 14"

Medium: Oil and resin on shaped panel

Artist: Greg Busch

In this final panel of the Pre-Clin series, the tension softens—if only at first glance. The figure’s body appears more whole, almost classical in its poise, but again, it’s split by the sinuous boundary of the shaped panel — a surgical frame masquerading as art.

A white mouse stands perched, almost mythic, between two upright arms — an offering, a symbol, or a witness. The background glows with unnatural warmth, veined with ink-like blooms that recall petri dishes, bodily fluids, or an otherworldly sky.

Greg Busch continues his surreal interrogation of intimacy, objectification, and the quiet violence of being studied. The body here is part Venus, part experiment — held together by control and observation.

This isn’t closure. It’s culmination. A final echo in a trilogy that quietly asks: when does observation become intrusion?
