“Pre-Clin Study 2”

Dimensions: 20” x 16”

Medium: Oil and resin on shaped panel

Artist: Greg Busch

The body is fragmented again — not by violence, but by inquiry. A white lab mouse rests in the crook of pale thighs like a secret, a question, a test subject waiting its turn. The figure is faceless, almost sculptural, but unmistakably human in its intimacy.

The shaped panel itself feels surgical — like tissue removed for closer inspection. Organic curves interrupt the canvas, mimicking both the softness of flesh and the cold geometry of a clinical form.

Greg Busch blurs voyeurism and research, eroticism and ethics. The lab mouse, too pristine, too calm, sits at the center like a knowing witness — or is it the one being watched?

If “Pre-Clin Study 1” was the consent form, this is the procedure. A surreal meditation on how we observe, dissect, and control — in medicine, in art, in power.
