Owner & Director (2024):
Art is more than passion — it’s Elle Frey’s heritage. As the owner of Raaw-Art, she continues a legacy spanning generations, tracing back to her great-grandparents, Donald and Serine Bonnist, who brought Donald Art Publishing to the U.S. to make fine art more accessible. Elle was raised among artists, collectors, and curators, which fostered her intuitive eye for curation and instilled in her a deep appreciation for creative expression. With a business education from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business and a minor in Art History, Elle merges her personal connection to the art world with expertise in curation and commerce.
Elle Frey
RaawArt was born from an intrinsic moment—a whisper that Elle heard when she was five years old, standing quietly among canvases, feeling something that no one articulated. Elle didn’t know the names or techniques; she knew the feelings and the energy the images evoked within her. Observing one of the artists (emerging at the time, now well-established) and many pieces with multitudes of meaning at the artist's gallery opening, she sensed these before grasping the power art holds.
Growing up surrounded by artists—painters, sculptors, and visionaries—Elle inquisitively observed as their creations took shape and felt their emotions before she could put names to them. Some of these artists achieved great renown. However, the essence of their raw creation, the silent moments where spirit met canvas. proved to be more profound to Elle than their fame.
These early experiences awakened instincts deeply etched in Elle by legacy—a sense that she wasn’t only observing art; she was also remembering it. Over time, Elle surmised her gift wasn’t to create art with her hands. Rather, she sensed it was to feel with her spirit, the quiet potential within others, and bring that to the surface.
From a young age, Elle developed a passion for art & an appreciation of it. Elle understands that art is more than mere expression; it’s about remembrance, legacy, and representation of the soul’s interests & desires.
Elle recognized the need to hold space. There’s something unspoken that passes between Elle and the artist, rooted in trust, legacy, and a quiet recognition of what is meant to be. That’s how Raaw-Art came to life—not from a business plan, but from a calling. A calling to bridge between the seen and the unseen, the artist and the world, the internal drivers and the medium, sharing her passion and appreciation for art with others.
